The collection takes its inspiration from the technicolor ribbon of the ever moving Kuchi nomads living in the parched lands of Afghanistan. The most spectacular things are born out of the confluence of the contrasting, like the burst of nomadic colors against an arid dessert. ‘Kuchi Dastaan’ is also the result of two such contrasting yet beautifully merging materials, ceramic and fabric.
Hand-painted blue-pottery ceramic tiles and beads made by the skilled master-craftsmen in Jaipur, India are combined with plush silk fabric, to arrive at colorful and timeless pieces.
Hand-embroidery details and glass beads add to the whimsy and charm of the collection.
